VIZ Media and ShoPro (Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd.) will join forces to co-produce the forthcoming Hirayasumi anime.
Revealed today, the anime is an adaptation of the award-winning manga series from Keigo Shinzo. A new illustration from Shinzo celebrating the announcement can be seen below. Animation will be done by Production +h., who is best known for their work in The Orbital Children and Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction. More information about the anime series will be revealed soon. Shinzo said this about the show:
“I’m so happy to hear it’s being adapted into an anime and a drama! I’m really looking forward to seeing both shows!”
A synopsis for Hirayasumi reads:
At 29 years old, carefree Hiroto Ikuta doesn’t have a girlfriend, a full-time job, or a plan for the future—and he couldn’t be happier. Hiroto’s breezy attitude isn’t easy for everyone to understand, though. In a world filled with anxiety, confusion, and grief, Hiroto and the people around him are all just doing their best to figure out this thing called life.
Since 2024, the Hirayasumi manga has been released in English via VIZ Media. More information about the manga series can be found here. Volume six of the English translated series will be released on August 19.
