UFL Update 0.66 Improves Passing, Auto-Switching and More

UFL

UFL update 0.66 is out today and brings a number of gameplay improvements, including reworked passing and more responsive player switching. Goalkeepers and AI have been upgraded, while the HUD now includes situational skills and visual indicators for strong and weak foot usage.

New national team players from Greece, Slovenia, and Uruguay have been added to the roster. Input lag has been reduced to improve overall feel during matches. The update also introduces the UFL Season Stars event and a brand-new Team Pass. Check out the video and patch notes below.

GAMEPLAY

  • Passing

    • Introduced curling pass logic that adjusts pass path based on nearby opponents. Higher Pass Accuracy increases success rate.
    • Increased influence of Pass Accuracy, Crossing, Heading, Weak Foot, and Composure.
    • Improved crosses and low crosses into the box.
    • Improved pass accuracy based on left stick direction.
  • Auto-switching

    • During aerial passes, defenders won’t auto-switch if the current user-controlled player is closest to the receiver.
    • Auto-switching after loose balls now occurs slightly later, giving more control to the user.
  • New Run Styles added: Yamal, Bellingham, Walker, Virgil van Dijk.
  • Reduced input lag for passes and shots.
  • Goalkeepers can now catch weak shots without diving if unpressured.
  • Improved goalkeeper movement animations.
  • Lowered chance of missing or hitting the post when shooting at open goals.
  • Reworked “last chance” logic.
  • Added safeguards to ensure matches end after added time.
  • Fixes
    • Fixed bug where goalkeepers could accidentally push saved balls into their own net.
    • Fixed bug where keepers would fall over after a missed penalty shot if the right stick wasn’t used.
    • Fixed bug allowing players to receive more than two yellow cards in a match.
    • Fixed player wall positioning in incomplete squads.
    • Fixed players failing to return to their positions after free kicks.
    • Fixed defenders running into restricted zones during opponent’s corner setup.
    • Fixed bug where goalkeeper would turn toward the stands after ball exits the field.

AI ASSIST / BOT IMPROVEMENTS

  • Better positioning inside the box when marking attackers.
  • Improved attacking runs into the box when the ball is on the wing.
  • Improved offensive corner positioning based on player stats.
  • Improved defensive positioning during opponent free kicks near the box.
  • Overhaul of defensive bot behaviour across all difficulties:
    • Smarter bot switching between defenders.
    • Improved chasing and interception logic.

FIXES

  • Fixed bug causing bots to endlessly switch between players without tackling.
  • Fixed issue where bot-controlled players couldn’t dispossess opponents.
  • Fixed bot positioning on edge-of-field ball situations.
  • Fixed bug where bot-controlled players could run off the pitch.
  • Fixed bot finishing during 1v1s.
  • Fixed bug where bot-controlled keeper would start dribbling after a rebound.

OTHER

  • Added strong/weak foot visualisation in HUD.
  • Players with a unique celebration will now perform it automatically after their first goal (no button press needed).
  • Added national players from Uruguay, Greece, and Slovenia. Check out the full list of players here.
