Sunrise has published numerous new projects to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, which is originally known in Japan as New Mobile Report Gundam Wing. The new publications range from a special video to a new manga series.
The new video features Two-Mix’s “Rhythm Emotion,” which was also the second opening song for the Gundam Wing TV show. But unlike the original TV opening movie, this new video primarily shows Hajime Katoki’s Endless Waltz designs for the upgraded Gundams. The closing segments of this video also show new animations based on the Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop sequel novels.
Meanwhile, the new manga series titled 0.5 Point Half Preventer-7 tells a new story that will connect Endless Waltz with Frozen Teardrop. The first chapter shows how each of the five Gundam pilots receives a new Preventer codename: Rain for Wufei, Cloud for Duo, Sand for Quatre, Thunder for Trowa, and Snow for Heero.
Bandai Spirits also joined the celebrations by opening pre-orders for its new Metal Robot Spirits action figure of the XXXG-01W and S.H. Figuarts of Heero Yuy. The metal Gundam figure will release first in January 2026, with the pilot character’s action figure following suit the month after, in February 2026.
Celebrations for the 30th anniversary of Gundam Wing have also appeared in other franchises. In May 2025, Activision Blizzard released Overwatch 2 character skins and cosmetics modeled after the Mobile Suits from the show.
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, originally known in Japan as New Mobile Report Gundam Wing, first aired on Japanese television on April 7, 1995. As of July 2025, the HD remaster of the whole TV show is still available to watch for free worldwide on the GundamInfo YouTube channel.
