It’s been a month since Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was released, and it’s good news for Hideo Kojima’s latest opus.
Not only is the game a hit at retail, but it also seems that the people who play it like it enough that they power through the entire thing to completion.
Kojima also revealed several stats regarding the game and how players behave. They’re nothing too surprising, but it’s nice to know where the community lies.
The Majority Of Players Have Finished Death Stranding 2
Over on X (formerly Twitter), Hideo Kojima mentioned that given the game’s connected through SSS (Social Strand System), Kojima Productions was able to gather player data, which tells the studio that 79% of “Someone’s” have reached the end of the game’s story, and even continued once the tale has been completed.
That achievement warranted a thank you from Kojima, who said, “To everyone who has reached the ending: The world today is in a difficult state. It might be hard to hold on to hope for tomorrow. But know that there is someone out there who would risk their life to protect you—Even if you don’t notice, someone is connected to you, watching over you.”
Not only that, but a slew of stats about the game were revealed, too, which mentioned the following:
Top 3 Equipped Tools
- Ladder
- PCC (Portable Construction Device)
- Container Repair Spray
Top 3 Transportation Methods Used
- Pickup Off-Roader
- Tri-Cruiser
- On Foot

While Sony hasn’t announced anything yet, expect Death Stranding 2 to appear on PC in a few months’ time in 2026. With how Sony seems to be leaning into releasing games on competing platforms, don’t be surprised to see Death Stranding 2 on Xbox or even the Switch 2.
