Gamers beware, you’re in for a scare with a new delisting announcement.
Goosebumps: The Game is slated to be delisted on August 8 from PC (via Steam), PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. As of this writing, the game is still listed at $9.99. Like most delisted games, however, gamers can expect a discount closer to its delisting date.
The game was originally released back in 2015 as a prequel to the Goosebumps film. The game was the first Goosebumps video game released on PC since 1997’s Goosebumps: Attack of the Mutant, which featured Adam West and James Belushi in voice roles.
A synopsis for Goosebumps: The Game reads:
“The walk home from school today is going to be a lot spookier than usual… Your sleepy neighborhood’s been overrun by monsters! Werewolves prowl the woods, Gnomes roam underfoot, and scarecrows walk at midnight. But these aren’t ordinary monsters—they’re R.L. Stine’s famous Goosebumps monsters, released from their books and looking to wreak havoc! You’ll need to use your wits to investigate the surroundings, puzzle out clues, and outsmart the monsters before it’s too late! Survive a trek through your neighborhood, unravel the mysteries of the Dead House, and sneak through the mall after hours; only then can you confront Slappy and stop his plans for revenge!”
While Goosebumps: The Game is going away, a new Goosebumps video game will be unveiled soon. Goosebumps: Terror in Little Creek is set for an August 29 release on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-orders can be made here.
