How to Unlock the Speedway Classic Stadium in MLB The Show 25

After a week of anticipation, the Speedway Classic program has finally arrived in MLB The Show 25. I’ll be honest, I was a bit skeptical of how San Diego Studio would handle it because, despite being overall satisfied with the return of the power creep this year, the offline grind has been really hard to keep up with this year. On top of that, a lot of the best content is still locked behind a paywall through packs, a massive collection, or both. That being said, the content for the Speedway Classic looks to be pretty good right from the rip.

For one, a 99-rated Ronald Acuna is available completely for free in the program, which is something the Diamond Dynasty community was desperately asking for all week. I do have some concerns, given his card has a 75 Vision rating, which may or may not be a pain on Hall of Fame or Legend. But I’ll take it. Oh, and we’re getting a new stadium based on Bristol Motor Speedway, the setting of the Speedway Classic game between the Reds and Braves!

But how should players expect this new stadium to play? And how can it be unlocked?

How Does Bristol Motor Speedway Play In MLB The Show 25?

One of my biggest issues with Diamond Dynasty this year (and in years past) is the community’s obsession with elevation. That’s because in past installments, high-elevation stadiums in MLB The Show have rewarded more swings with home runs. That changed a bit this year, with stadiums such as Shield Woods and Laughing Mountain getting a huge nerf when it comes to the ball flying around. However, Coors Field has remained a popular choice because the elevation seems to still be overpowered there, leading to home runs on even the most mediocre swings.

Rant aside, I played one game at Bristol Motor Speedway while writing this, and it seems to play well. The dimensions are also pretty hitter friendly. They are as follows:

  • Left field: 330 ft.
  • Right field: 330 ft.
  • Center field: 400
  • Left-center: 384
  • Right-center: 375

Despite the city of Bristol, Tennessee actually being at over 1600 feet above sea level, the game seems halved this, placing Bristol Motor Speedway at only 951 feet in elevation. That may deter some of the more sweaty crowds. However, in the limited time I spent with it in the event game, the ball actually seems to carry fairly well. Plus, despite what most people may say, good swings at standard parks do seem to result in home runs and multi-base hits.

If you’re looking to unlock Bristol Motor Speedway for yourself, you are in luck, as it is incredibly easy to unlock. Through the Speedway Classic program, Bristol Motor Speedway is the first reward and only requires 5 Stars to unlock. This means that the only thing you need to do is open the Speedway Classic program, do one moment, and the stadium is yours. Easy peasy.

After unlocking Bristol Motor Speedway, you can use it in any game mode you wish to use it in. All you have to do is tab to Classic Stadiums when selecting one pre-game, and it’ll be there. And that is literally all there is to it.

Let us know if you enjoy it in the comments! I’ve unlocked it and will certainly be playing Ranked in it tonight. And if I don’t like it long-term, then Oak Street will always be there waiting.
