All Coin Locations (Collector of Coins Achievement)

Finding all the coins in Luto will require the player to slow down and take their time. They are extremely easy to miss and are frequently found by backtracking to previously explored areas.

There are a total of five coins in Luto. This is the least amount compared to other collectibles in the game, but it makes sense considering they are also the hardest to find.

We Need More Midwestern Horror Games

There is a distinct void of horror games (and video games in general) that take place in Midwest America – a void that needs to be filled.

Since Luto doesn’t have a chapter select feature, missing a coin will result in you having to start the entire game over. Don’t let that happen by following this guide. Here’s how to find all the coins in Luto.

Coin Location #1: Chapter 3

Coin Location #1 Luto

The first obtainable coin in Luto doesn’t appear until after the time loop sequence in Chapter 3. Once you finish the time loop by completing the puzzle in Sam’s room on Friday and exiting out the house door, it won’t be sunset anymore, and instead it’ll be a normal day.

The daytime sunlight coming into the house is your indicator that it’s time to grab the coin. Start heading down the main stairs until the screen flickers and turns staticky for a moment. Once this happens, turn around and start going back up the stairs to find the coin.

Coin Location #2: Chapter 4

Another coin can be found in Chapter 4 when progressing through the area that overlooks the desert. This coin is unmissable as it’s on the main path, so don’t stress too hard about searching for this one. You’ll encounter it naturally.

Progressing through the small area that overlooks the desert, eventually you’ll hear a loud crash, and the game will force you to go the way you came.

10 Minor Issues That Ruin Near-Perfect Horror Games

These horror games are almost perfect, but there’s this one little issue that holds them back.

The loud crash (which turned out to be a falling pillar) created a hole in the wall that you must climb through. On the other side of the hole, you’ll find the coin.

Coin Location #3: Chapter 4

Another coin can be found in Chapter 4, and unlike the previous one, this one is really easy to miss.

After collecting all the items of the family members, such as the glasses, deflated basketball, heart, and torn photo, don’t place them on the dream altar yet. Completing the dream altar puzzle will lock you out of finding this coin.

Instead, go down into the basement where you found all the monkeys, and take the next staircase down even further into the collapsed area. Take a left once you reach the bottom to find the coin in the darkness.

Coin Location #4: Chapter 5

Coin Location #4 Luto

The next coin is basically on the main path and won’t require much effort. At the start of Chapter 5, which begins after crawling through the mirror and entering the bathroom, you’ll find the coin in the hallway. It’s located right next to the alleyway that you need to take to progress the main story.

We Need More Horror Games That Embrace The Ordinary

As we enter a horror gaming Renaissance, more developers should incorporate the mundane.

It’s important to note that the words “Chapter 5: Playing With the Truth” don’t appear on the screen until you enter the alleyway on the left-hand side of the hallway. However, this coin is still considered to be a Chapter 5 collectible.

Coin Location #5: Chapter 22

Coin Location #5 Luto

The last coin can be found at the start of Chapter 22, which is actually just Chapter 6. The game calls it Chapter 22 for story reasons.

Once the chapter begins, and you wake up in the desert under the light, turn around immediately to find the coin off in the distance in the darkness. Run to the coin to grab it.

It’s important to run and grab the coin since an evil beast is lurking in the darkness, and it will grab you if you aren’t quick enough.

After grabbing the last coin in this chapter, you will earn the Collector of Coins achievement.
