A new challenger approaches, ready to put the unprepared in their place.
The Everdark Sovereign encounters are the pinnacle challenge in Elden Ring: Nightreign, upgraded and expanded Nightlord fights that test everything you know about the game. They’re also limited-time events, rotating in and out of the available Expedition weekly. Here’s the ongoing Everdark Sovereign schedule:
Everdark Sovereign schedule and rotation
The weekly rotation of Everdark Sovereign Expeditions began on June 18. 2025, and has no end date. So, unless another major endgame-style update comes to Nightriegn, expect these fights to be the most difficult in the game. The Everdark Sovereign schedule updates each weekly reset.

When a Nightlord is up for its turn as the Everdark Sovereign, you must ensure you exploit its weakness. This will improve your odds of success. Here are some links to boss weakness guides:

You have the opportunity to fight one Everdark Sovereign every week, with a new challenge rotating on Wednesday at 6:00 PM Pacific Time. That timeframe coincides with the surprise drop of the first Everdark Sovereign encounter against the Gaping Jaw, Adel, Baron of Night.
Every Everdark Sovereign fight is vastly more difficult than the default version. You can expect the boss to use new attacks, an increased health pool, higher damage, and even some new mechanics. All of it will force you to think on your feet and probably take more than a few losses before finally conquering the challenge.
Days one and two are thankfully function identically to regular difficulty Expeditions, but you’ll still want to optimize your routing around the map. That means collecting flask upgrades and weapons that cater to the boss’s weakness, and especially getting your character level as high as possible.

The best Expedition routes usually follow a spiral-like pattern, where you clear the outer camps first, defeating evergaol and field bosses as you find them. When the zone shrinks, check the central castle if available. If the enemies there are Crucible Knights or Banished Knights, clear as much of the area as you can. Not only is it a massive XP increase, but many of the enemies drop good loot.
You should also always do the Shifting Earth event if it’s active, as you need every advantage you can muster.
There is tellingly no news of an Everdark version of Heolstor, Nightreign’s true final boss. FromSoftware looks to surprise and delight with Nightreign’s post-launch content, so anything is possible.
