Plant Vs. Zombies Replanted Release Date Revealed

Electronic Arts (EA) and PopCap are teaming up for a new Plants Vs. Zombies game (well, sort of), with Plants Vs. Zombies: Replanted — a remaster of the original PvZ game released over 15 years ago in 2009.

Not only did we receive a trailer today, but EA has also confirmed that the game will be released later this year.

Battlefield 6: EA Boss Suggests Game Won’t Cost $80

Good news for Battlefield fans!

Released in 2009 as a tower defense game, Plants Vs. Zombies achieved massive success and caught the attention of EA, which acquired the entire studio in 2011.

After its acquisition, the Plants Vs. Zombies brand saw multiple spinoffs on consoles and PC, such as the Garden Warfare series. While the franchise never achieved the level of success it had on mobile, it still garnered a loyal fanbase.

The last PvZ game released was Plants Vs. Zombies 3, which EA launched as a tower defense game on mobile devices last year.

Perhaps if PvZ: Replanted proves to be successful, EA might consider more spin-offs for the brand. The last we heard of any core game for the series was a rumor that Garden Warfare 3 was in development. This was over five years ago, and as we all know, that game never materialized.
