As part of the big Season 3.5 update for Marvel Rivals, NetEase is slapping a load of hero balance changes. If you’ve been playing the hero shooter recently, chances are you’ve assumed that this one damage hero (Duelist) is getting nerfed.
This is the same hero that almost always gets insta-banned in Competitive matches and with good reason.

Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Update Nerfs Black Panther But Not Enough
If you’re playing Competitive in Marvel Rivals, you might have seen Black Panther banned in almost every match, which shows how broken the character is. You can literally jump in, take out a squishy character, and jump out without any consequences.
While most Marvel Rivals players assumed Black Panther will be getting a nerf in the next major update, the change NetEase is implementing isn’t really that big of a deal.
Black Panther isn’t getting a health nerf or anything major, other than his Spirit Rend cooldown getting an increase from 8 seconds to 10 seconds. Yes, that’s it. No other abilities were affected.
Expect Black Panther to remain a menace even after the 3.5 patch is applied.
While Black Panther got nerfed, a bunch of Duelists got buffed. Star-Lord, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Iron Fist all will be getting slight buffs when the new update rolls around.
When it comes to Vanguards, Magneto is getting nerfed a bt by making his shield have less HP, but Doctor Strange, Groot, and Thor are all getting buffed, with Strange getting the most most significant changes.
Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 launches on August 8, and it brings a new hero in Blade alongside a host of new content. Another major change on the way is to make player toxicity better, but the drawback here is, NetEase will listen to voice chats.
Will Black Panther get a more significant nerf? We’ll know soon enough. If the character continues to maul healers as quickly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see another nerf implemented.
